Shade Grown Coffee

CONSERVATION
The coffee plants are grown in the shade and have shown higher levels of stability than coffee grown in full sun. They play an important role in conserving biodiversity (providing habitat for various species of birds and mammals) and prevent soil loss.
THE CROP
The coffee from Cuzalapa is the typical Arabic variety. More than 50% of the orchards are over 100 years old. The coffee trees grow beneath natural and cultivated trees such as mango, avocado, lime, orange, banana cuajiotes, quebrachas, azahares, parotas, and oaks.
PRODUCT
This coffee is 100% pure. It is grown without any use of agrochemicals and it helps to ensure the conservation of this biosphere reserve. |
